Welcome to the Greater Buffalo Food Allergy Alliance (GBFAA). Our mission is to share information, tips, and experiences to ease the challenges of living with food allergies as well as to raise awareness in the community through outreach programs and presentations.
We do this by:
• providing practical coping tips, recipes, networking, and information for families with food allergies
• helping schools, daycare centers, preschools, camps, and other groups prepare for children with food allergies. Presentations are provided for a nominal donation.
• raising community awareness about the severity of life-threatening (anaphylactic) food allergies
• supporting FARE and other national organizations in funding research on food alelrgies.
Regular Meetings take place the 3rd Monday of January, March, May, July, September and Novermber from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Meetings include a discussion around a relevant food allergy related topic as well as support discussion. Every meeting closes with discussion of “positive experiences” so members leave the meeting feeling encouraged and empowered. We encourage you to attend our meetings on a regular basis as there is always something new to learn. Our meetings are held at Cleveland Hill Fire Hall located at 440 Cleveland Drive (near Harlem Rd) in Cheektowaga. This location is a central point for Northtowns, Southtowns and city members and is close to the Cleveland Drive exit off the Thruway. Please park in the lot that is off of Merrymont Ave. Within that parking lot, every able-bodied person must park in the farthest parking spots (near horseshoe pits) from the building. Please do not park on the street or use the ramp in the front of the building. These closer spaces are needed for volunteer firefighters in case of emergency. Our meeting space is on the second floor. There is an elevator available. If you have any questions about upcoming meetings, please use the "contact us" page.
